Pruning is necessary and will vary in intensity and frequency according to rainfall and fertility of the planted areas. The goal is to produce a knot-free wood, pruning up to 6.5 m of stem. Pruning should always be taken lightly, avoiding the removal of more than 30% of leave volume in the form of tree branches. Basically one needs 3 periods of light pruning during the implementation phase, the first prime pruning should be done at approximately 7 months, the second pruning of lower branches at 19 months and high branches pruning at 31 months. You may need to make a light prime session pruning of branches in some plants that bifurcate or remove thieve shoots at the base of the plants. This operation must be performed with PRUNING SHEARS after the drought onset.
